Shenanigans & Malarkey
I actually bought a candle for St. Patrick's Day and on it says, "Shenanigans and Malarkey" It gave me the idea for this poem.
A young leprechaun hides in the forest
Searching for her pot of gold
Dressed in Green and Yellow, unable to rest
Until her property is back at home.
Long red waves flow over her shoulders
As the wind blows oh so softly around her
The birds and the trees whistling in a chorus,
The leaves rustle as she spots a 4-leaf clover.
Then she spots another.
And another.
The young leprechaun follows the trail
Down a path, past a stream
Until finally, she eyes a most curious moss
Instead of green, it is blue
And something shiny peaks through
Why it's her pot of gold!
Hiding beneath the strange flora
The moss nestles her stash from the cold
Her gold has a glowing aura.
No matter how it got here,
Time to get into some Shenanigans
And Malarkey.
Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!
Thanks so much for reading!
