My First Flash Fiction
Updated: Jul 23, 2021
I wrote my first flash fiction about a year and a half ago. Unfortunately, I lost my work but a few of them I managed to remember (it’s a miracle!). So here is my first one.
The Clown
In an old trailer, in an old, old trailer park, she is getting ready for her night. With just the light from the mirror - and a few candles nearby - she dons her multi-colored clown outfit and big clown shoes.
Dark melodic music plays in the background from her iPhone as she looks in the mirror to apply her make-up. Scars disfigure ever so slightly across her forehead, chin, and cheeks. Scars to remind her of the fire that stole her little girl from her.
Her child was stolen before that night though. She thinks of this as renewed rage overflows in her eyes. Applying the white foundation and the black shadow, she seethes with a darkness she never thought she was capable of.
Now for the wig. Placing that big red wig atop her head, she knows what the night will bring. She is ready. The lady clown heads to her front door, stopping only long enough to pick up her ax.
It’s stilled stained red from the night before. Now for the hunt.
That's it guys for the flash fiction. They are meant to be short. It's actually longer than the original, haha.
Thanks so much for reading!
Very creepy!
